The merchant
This is the seller from whom you’re buying goods or services funded by this agreement.

You can withdraw from this agreement.
You can withdraw from this agreement within 14 days from the day after you enter it by contacting customer service or through the Klarna App.
If you withdraw and decide to keep the goods or services that you bought from the merchant, you’ll still need to pay for those goods or services. You’ll need to make this payment immediately. We’ll let you know how to make this payment.
You may be able to cancel your purchase with the merchant.
For more information, please check the merchant’s website or contact them to find out how you can return the goods or cancel the services that you have purchased from them. A return would cancel your purchase with them.
It can take some time for the merchant to let us know that you’ve cancelled your purchase. Your agreement with the merchant is separate to your agreement with us, so you’ll still need to continue making the payments under this agreement until the merchant has told us that they have agreed to cancel your purchase with them. Alternatively, you can pause the payments by selecting the order on the Klarna App and tapping “Report a problem”.
Once we know that your purchase has been cancelled, we’ll cancel the remaining payments due to us. If you’ve already paid us towards your purchase, we’ll refund it to you within 14 days. If you have a Klarna balance account we may issue your refund to that account. Otherwise, we’ll send the refund to your payment method.
Can you cancel part of your purchase?
Yes. We'll deduct the refund amount from your outstanding balance and adjust your remaining payments.
If the refund is less than your outstanding balance: your remaining payments will stay due on the same dates, adjusted to your new balance.
If the refund is more than your outstanding balance: we'll cancel any remaining payments and refund the difference within 14 days. If you have a Klarna balance account, we may send the refund there. Otherwise, we’ll send the refund to your payment method.
You can pay us easily. Autopay
When you place your order, you’ll turn on our AutoPay feature by giving us the details of your credit or debit card and selecting it as a payment method for your payments to us. Our Autopay is a continuous payment authority.
This means that, when you set it up and select it as a method of payment to us for a payment plan, we can continue to charge it for the monies payable to us on the dates that they are due without further action from you. You can change the card that you use for this feature at any time on the Klarna App.
We’ll use the card details that you’ve given us to collect your payments on the day that they are due. We’ll only collect the amount that is due on that day, and we’ll send you a reminder before we do it. You must keep your card details up to date. If you don't, we may ask your bank for updated details.
If we're not able to collect your payment on the day that it is due, we'll try again up to two times in the next 14 days based on the information available to us. If we are unsuccessful, we will add the missed repayment to the repayment due the following month and try to collect them together. If we are unsuccessful, we may try again in the next 7 days based on the information available to us.
You can turn off the Autopay feature by contacting the issuer of your card.
Alternatively, you can also pay using any of the following methods:
We’ll show all the payment methods available to you within the Klarna App.
You can repay early.
You can repay us in part or in full under this agreement before your payments are due (a pre-payment). There are no fees or penalties for doing so.
Just pay in the Klarna App using Klarna balance, paying through the Klarna App or on our website using a credit or debit card, or by making a bank transfer.
If your pre-payment is of the full amount due under this agreement, it’ll end your agreement with us, and no further payment will be payable.
If your pre-payment is a part payment, how we apply it will depend on how much you’ve paid. If you pay less than the amount due to us in total, we’ll reduce the next payment. If your additional payment is more than is due in your next payment, we’ll apply it to your next payment and we’ll apply whatever is left to the following payment.
If you make a pre-payment, we’ll send you an email confirming how much you’ve paid, how we’ve applied it and how it affects your future payments.
We may charge you a late payment fee.
If we haven’t received your payment 14 days after it was due to be paid, we may charge a late payment fee of 25% of the order total, up to a maximum of £6. We won’t charge this fee if you owe us less than £1. We only charge two late payment fees per agreement. We’ll let you know before we charge you.
If you’re in financial difficulties, please contact us as soon as you can. We’ll try our best to help. You can also get free and impartial advice from MoneyHelper at moneyhelper.org.uk or by calling 0800 138 7777.
If you miss a payment, we may report you to a credit reference agency.
We may report information about your payments, including late or missed payments to credit reference agencies. This information may be seen by other lenders. Missed or late payments can reduce your credit score and make it harder or more expensive for you to borrow in the future.
We may terminate and transfer your account to a debt collection agency.
If we haven’t received the payments due to us, we may terminate this agreement. If we terminate this agreement, we’ll give you 14 days’ notice. Once we have terminated this agreement, we may transfer the outstanding debt to a regulated debt collection agency.
We’ll contact you before we do this and try to resolve the matter between us before taking this step.
You can avoid the outcomes above.
You can avoid the negative outcomes above by always making your payments to us on time.
- use our Autopay feature to avoid missing a payment;
- ensure your card is active and has enough money before your payments to us become due; and
- contact us as soon as possible if you are struggling to pay us.
You have rights under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
For purchases of more than £100, and no more than £30,000.
You may have the right to claim against the merchant or us or both if you have received unsatisfactory goods or services, or the merchant has not supplied them to you properly.
Let us know on the Klarna App by selecting the transaction and following the steps to report a problem, or by contacting our customer services team. We’ll investigate your claim and contact the merchant. If we find that against the merchant, we’ll give you a refund.

Everything Else
1. Who can use Pay in 3?
You may be able to use Pay in 3, if you:
- are a UK resident;
- are 18 or older;
- have a valid debit or credit card in your name; and
- have enough money to make payments to us when they fall due.
We’ll ask you for some information before we decide to lend to you. We’ll make our decision based on the information that you provide to us. We may also carry out a soft credit check (which does not affect your credit score).
2. How does Pay in 3 work?
Pay in 3 lets you buy now and pay later. You can buy something from a merchant immediately and, under this agreement, we’ll lend you the money to do so.
You’ll need to repay us in three instalments, over two months. The first payment will be due on the date of this agreement.
The second payment under this agreement will be due to us 30 days later. The third payment under this agreement will be due to us 30 days after that.
We’ll let you know the date of this agreement and the dates on which you need to repay us.
There’s no interest on Pay in 3 or fees for making a payment to us.
3. What cards does Klarna accept?
We accept most UK-issued credit and debit cards in your name. We may decline cards that are due to expire soon. We will let you know if a card cannot be accepted when you try to pay with it.
4. How does Klarna convert currencies?
When you purchase something in a currency other than GBP (£), we’ll convert the purchase price on the date of your agreement.
We’ll show you the expected conversion rate when you’re placing your order, but this may change between then and the date of your agreement.
Our conversion rate includes our exchange rate mark-up, plus the base rate from wholesale currency markets on the conversion day or previous business day. When required by law or regulation, we'll use the applicable government reference rate.
If you’re issued a refund, the refund amount will depend on the exchange rate at the time of the refund. As a result, you may get more or less than you paid for your purchase.
5. Are your purchases protected?
Klarna may offer Buyer Protection for some products and services, which means you do not have to pay for goods until you have received them, and we will help you with problems related to your purchase.
Full details are at klarna.com/uk/buyer-protection-description/ .
You also have rights under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, as described above.
6. What if you’re having trouble making payments?
If you're struggling financially, please get in touch with us as soon as you can. The sooner you tell us, the more we can do to help.
You can contact us through the Klarna App, or by calling us on 0203 005 0833 or 0808 189 3333.
When you get in touch, we'll talk through your situation and work with you to find a solution. Depending on your circumstances, this might include agreeing a new payment plan or temporarily pausing your payments.
We'll always treat you with respect and handle your situation sympathetically and in confidence.

7. Does Klarna report your information to credit reference agencies?
We may carry out a “soft” credit search before deciding whether to lend to you. This does not affect your credit score.
We may report information about your payments, including on-time, late, and missed payments, to credit reference agencies. This may affect your credit file and your ability to obtain credit in the future.
More information about how we interact with credit reference agencies can be found in our Privacy Notice.
8. How does Klarna store your card details and handle your data?
We store your card details when you shop with us. We use them to process your payments and, unless you opt out, to pre-fill your card details for your convenience for future purchases.
You can manage your cards online. If Klarna gets updated card details from your bank, we might also store this information on our system.
We use your personal data to identify you, carry out credit assessments, report to credit reference agencies, and for marketing and business development, and as otherwise set out in our Privacy Notice. By using Klarna’s services you confirm that you’ve read this notice.
We may share your data with partners (including credit reference agencies), which may be based outside the UK.
For full details of your rights and how to exercise them, and how to make a complaint under the UK GDPR, please see our Privacy Notice.
9. How will Klarna communicate with you?
We’ll usually send you in-app notifications and/or email you, unless we’re legally required to send you a letter in the post. You agree that you’re happy to receive communications from us in these ways.
You must ensure the email address you have linked to your Klarna account is always correct. If it is not, you may miss important communications from us.
10. Transfer of rights
This agreement is personal to you and you cannot transfer your rights or obligations under it.
We may transfer this agreement, or any of our rights and obligations under it, to another party at any time without your consent, unless doing so would adversely affect your rights. We’ll let you know if we do this.
11. Can Klarna end this agreement?
We may end this agreement if you breach any of its terms, you give us false or misleading information, or you’re abusive to our staff.
We may also terminate this agreement where we are required to do so by any law or regulation, or where we reasonably consider it necessary to do so.
If we terminate this agreement, your outstanding balance will become due and payable immediately.
We’ll always tell you before we do this, unless we are prevented from doing so by law.
12. Can Klarna reserve its rights?
We may not always exercise our rights under this agreement. If we don’t exercise a right, we don’t lose that right. We can always exercise it later.
13. Applicable law and jurisdiction
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. This agreement is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales unless you live in Northern Ireland or Scotland, in which case you may bring proceedings in Northern Ireland and Scotland respectively.
